[edit] Captain Video, Part One

(May 5, 1992)

The show opens with Danny hosting a meeting the Honey Bees at his house. This is Stephanie Tanner her record-setting career as a Honey Bee, claiming to have earned so many badges that she got a badge for it.

Jesse and Joey are in the studio; Jesse is playing music. Joey informs Jesse that he’s fired from the TV show due to budget cut-backs. At first Jesse is upset, but he later thanks Joey for the opportunity to focus on his music again.

D.J. and Kimmy are in the kitchen dressed in Spanish garb. D.J. is worried that her father will not allow her participate in a summer study program in Barcelona. Kimmy comments that her parents already bought her a one-way ticket. Danny enters, somewhat taken aback by their clothing. Kimmy tangos with him, so he leads her out the door and then closes it.

By now, Joey and Rebecca are also in the kitchen in time to eat Michelle’s “Pudding Surprise”, which she hopes will earn her a Honey Bee badge. While everyone present tries it and insists that it is good, Michelle wonders, “How come nobody’s swallowing?” It turns out that the “surprise” is Velveeta Cheese and olives mixed in with the pudding. Jesse walks in, tries the pudding, and then remarks that it is “awful”. When he realizes that Michelle made it, in an effort to make her feel better, he suggests feeding it to Comet, but even Comet refuses to eat it. Michelle decides that it needed more olives.

Jesse and Rebecca are with Alex and Nicky in the attic. Jesse finds a grey hair and worries because he is only 29 years old. He begins to worry about his hairline, which has receded 4 millimeters. He is interrupted by a phone call from David at Fat Fish Records who informs him that his single was rejected. Rebecca, hoping to cheer up Jesse, tells him that The Beach Boys will be on her show, Wake Up! San Francisco, and that he could meet them. Jesse is uninterested.

D.J. and Danny are discussing the trip to Spain. D.J. wants her father to decide whether he will let her go or not. Rebecca enters excited, looking for Jesse. Mike Love and Bruce Johnston of the Beach Boys enter. Jesse, unaware of their arrival, enters while still dying his hair and is embarrassed.

Jesse and the Rippers join Mike and Bruce in the studio. Everyone else watches them play. The Beach Boys then offer to record a single with Jesse’s band.

Jesse, excited about the recording, meets Michelle in the kitchen and tries her new dish, “Tuna-Cream”, which is a combination of tuna and Oreo ice cream. Jesse finds it repulsive, and Michelle is discouraged. Jesse tells her not to give up and explains the value of perseverance. A flashback of Jesse’s musical attempts follows. Jesse also tells Michelle to “stop putting things together”. Michelle responds, “What was I thinking? It needs olives!”

D.J. and Kimmy are once again talking to Danny about the trip to Spain. Danny claims to be wrestling with the idea and then begins to ramble about his past as a wrestler named the “human pipe cleaner”. Eventually, Danny decides to let her go.

In the living room, Stephanie offers everyone “O.J. on a stick”. Joey, Rebecca, Nicky, and Alex all like it. Stephanie then informs everyone that it was Michelle who made it. Michelle is happy to finally find success and considers opening a restaurant.

David of Fat Fish Records, upon hearing the new recording with the Beach Boys, agrees to sign a record deal with Jesse. David argues, however, that Jesse must dance because Michael Jackson and Hammer do. Despite Jesse’s reluctance, David assures him that everyone in America will soon be doing the “Jess-man”.

[edit] Captain Video, Part Two

(May 12, 1992)

Stephanie is alone in the living room. Rebecca enters and tells Stephanie to leave, as Jesse needs to practice dancing. Stephanie refuses to leave, wanting to watch Jesse dance. Jesse enters with dance choreographer, Richard Whiz, and David from Fat Fish Records. Jesse begins dancing without finding immediate success and argues that “Forever” is not a dance song. David informs him that the song has been modified and that it now a rap song. When Jesse says he is not a rapper, David tells him that Vanilla Ice said the same thing. Richard begins teaching Jesse basic dances; Jesse struggles with all of them including the “Running Man”, which Stephanie and Rebecca can perform flawlessly. Stephanie sings as well. Jesse once again attempts to dance but lands on his split legs and then requests ice.

In the next scene, Joey and Michelle are in the kitchen toasting Michelle’s first day in the lemonade business. Upon tasting the lemonade, they both decide it needs more sugar. Michelle adds far more sugar than is required. Michelle reveals that she intends to use her lemonade profits to purchase an ant farm. She reveals that her ants are currently living in jar with a lollipop. Danny, D.J., and Kimmy enter. Danny is sweaty and buys a cup of lemonade from Michelle. Danny notices the excessive sugar and decides against drinking any more. Expecting change, he reminds Michelle that he gave her a dollar and asks, “Aren’t you forgetting something?” She replies, “Oh yeah… Have a nice day!”

Jesse is at a studio where David is filming the music video for “Forever”. The costumes and scenes are of Middle Eastern style, and the music is rap. Jesse is unhappy with the record company’s modifications and quits. David tells him that this was his one chance of making it.

Later, Jesse is sitting with Nicky and Alex and decides that he was being selfish for quitting. He realizes that he gave up an opportunity to help his family financially.

D.J and Kimmy are in D.J’s room studying Spanish, because she needs a D- to go on the trip to Barcelona. Kimmy is tired and asks for “El Sleep-o Bed-o Please-o”. Danny calls from the hall and later enters the room. Since Kimmy is not allowed to be there at this hour, she hides in the bed; D.J. hides out of sight, so Danny will think that she is in the bed. Danny begins questioning D.J., and Kimmy responds with “si” until Danny asks for a kiss, and she says “no!” Danny, realizing he’s talking to Kimmy, begins making up a story about D.J. ditching Kimmy in Spain, so Kimmy comes out of the bed.

Jesse, Rebecca, Danny, and Michelle are together in the kitchen. Michelle offers Jesse her ant farm money. Jesse refuses to accept it. Michelle explains, “But I love you, and you’re more important than my ants… (to ants) Sorry, guys.” David enters, assuring Jesse that he was nothing without Fat Fish Records. Jesse, however, claims to have another offer. He then describes the company as five years old and the amount of money as “enough to buy a farm”, referring to Michelle’s offer of her ant farm money. Joey tells David he does not want to be like the guy who turned down the Beatles who is still kicking himself. Joey then leaves, kicking himself as he goes. Jesse demands to be allowed to “do it his way”, and David agrees. Jesse then thanks Michelle. Michelle says, “I don’t know what I did, but I’m glad I did it!”

Back at the house, Kimmy informs Danny that she passed her Spanish test with a “D-”. Danny comments that, with grades like that, she’s on the fast track to air conditioning school.

Jesse then calls everyone to the television because he is about to appear on MTV. Jesse is noticeably nervous in his appearance and annoys the host by naming all the people he wished to thank. Finally, his music video, “Forever” by Jesse and the Rippers, plays. The music is once again rock and roll-style, and Jesse does not dance in the video. After the video, Danny excitedly informs Jesse that the music store was sold out of his recording. Jesse informs Danny that that is because he purchased them all, and then he hands them out to everyone as a present.
