Fudai, Iwate

Fudai (普代村; -mura) is a village located in Shimohei District, Iwate, Japan.
As of 2003, the village has an estimated population of 3,449 and a density of 49.51 persons per km². The total area is 69.66 km².
Fudai daimyo were a class of daimyo in Japan who were responsible for military operations. They usually had smaller hans than most daimyo, but wielded extraordinary power in society.
