Fuat Güner

Aziz Fuat Güner (1948), better known as Fuat Güner, is a Turkish pop musician, member of the renowned band MFÖ and an actor.
He was born April 1, 1948 in İstanbul, Turkey to a renowned photographer father. During his school years at St. Joseph's High School in İstanbul, he was a very active sportsman, playing football, volleyball and sailing. He became a champion in the 400 m category of college athletics in Turkey. After the high school, he was educated in civil engineering at the State Architectural Academy of Istanbul. Fuat Güner worked in the State Highway Authority for 3 years and then in STFA, a company for infrastructure, for 2 years as an engineer.
However, he was interested more in music composing. So, he quit 1979 his job and devoted himself professionally to music, as he received money for his composition of music to a commercial so much that he normally earned in a year only.
He started playing guitar already in his primary school years as his uncle gifted him an acoustic guitar. In 1966, he met Mazhar Alanson, and the two formed soon a music band "Kaygısızlar" ("The Unworrieds") inspired by the Beatles. Özkan Uğur joined the group in 1970, and the band was renamed MFÖ, after the initials of the members.
MFÖ played for the most popular singer Ajda Pekkan, and in 1984 Fuat invested all the money they earned in the building of their own music studio. The group released the album Ele Güne Karşı Yapayalnız, which became a hit and ranked number one in 26 consecutive weeks.
Fuat Güner along with Dağhan Baydur and Erdal Kızılçay played Beatles Alaturca, a revival of the Beatles music with Turkish instruments in 1998 in the Lütfi Kırdar Congress Center, İstanbul. The group performed the same at their participation in the Beatles Festival held 1999 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
Fuat Güner is composer of several film music and performed as an actor on stage and in a movie.
