[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia
Welcome to Wikipedia. (I'm guessing it's safe to assume you're the same Frymaster I already know.) Your contributions so far look good. Keep up the good work and take to heart the encouragement to "be bold" here. --GrantNeufeld 02:29, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Food, diet, veganism, etc.
I figure that you might have some thoughts on how to expand and clarify the Animal product article I just put up. Please take a look. Thanks. —GrantNeufeld 07:49, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Confusion in AfD log:
Sorry to bug, but due to some mistakes in the formatting of the AfD after my AfD:Laclede's Lan, it isn't clear if you're talking about the Laclede's Lan... it seems you didn't use the format from Wikipedia:Articles for deletion (How to list pages for deletion) when you made the addition on the list page (i.e., using {{subst:afd3 | pg=''PageName''}}). If you need help fixing it, let me know. I'm sure another Wikipedian may have corrected it in the time I wrote this. All the best and happy editting. Bobak 22:20, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Insensible race
Thanks for the merge tag. That article's creator has been creating a multitude of like articles, and we've been trying to convince him that they should be merged into the race definer's main article, but to no avail. Feel free to join the conversation at User talk:Dark Tichondrias if you want. --Lukobe 18:41, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] FUCK THE CAPITALISTS
Well, since you're an anarchist and reverted my edit... I guess I'll respect the decision and not vandalize any more. 75.3.128.67 21:48, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Userboxes: A New Proposal
Hey, I've noticed that you've been active on the Userbox deletion page, either strongly FOR or AGAINST the use of the new T2 for deleting userboxes. I have noticed that most of the community is strong in their opinions on this issue; for that reason, I created my own proposal which attempts to create a middle ground for the two groups, and finally get this debate settled once and for all. I welcome your input into the proposal, as well as your (non-binding) vote on the straw poll. Thanks! // The True Sora 01:31, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Subst: on templates
Hey don't forget to subst: the user warning templates, but putting subst: in front of the template name, like {{subst:test}}. I noticed you had some warnings to possible vandals, but forgot to subst:. It apparently reduces the load on wikipedia to not have to regenerate the codes every time the pages are edited. Thanks. [edit] Welcome to VandalProof!
Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Frymaster! You have now been added to the list of authorized users, so if you haven't already, simply download and install VandalProof from our main page. [edit] Using VandalProof on Wine
I saw on the VandalProof discussion page that you'd managed to get it up and running under Wine and the winetools set. Was the process straightforward, or did you run into any bugs? I'm running Ubuntu Dapper Drake and Wine 0.9.9-0ubuntu2 with winetools 0.9-4, and the VandalProof install process was successful (it said it was, anyway). However, when I try to actually run the program, I get two errors:
This application is requesting an ActiveX browser object but the Mozilla ActiveX control is currently not installed. Do you wish to download and install it?
followed by (whether I click "Yes" or "No")
Failed to load control "WebBrowser" from shdocvw.dll. Your version of shdocvw.dll may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that came with your application.
I checked, and I do have shdocvw.dll installed in my Wine structure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much, Ryan McDaniel 23:42, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] National Emo Kid Beatdown Day
Whare are u doing reverting my edits as vandalism? I was trying to keep a NPOV the whole time. Did you even read what I wrote? It is well sourced.--God Ω War 18:44, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your edit to Crab Nebula
Your recent edit to Crab Nebula was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. If the bot reverted a legitimate edit, please accept my humble creator's apologies – if you bring it to the attention of the bot's owner, we may be able to improve its behavior. Click here for frequently asked questions about the bot and this warning. // AntiVandalBot 16:46, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- the above vandalism warning was generated by a bot that got a little confused during a heated revert fest. for the record, the edit in question is here. just to, you know, keep my name clear and all.frymaster 18:49, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vandal warnings
Thanks for the link to some useful warnings, on my talk page. I can see those are really much more useful. I'll be using them from now on, and have made a handy little link to them on my user page. Nice script, BTW. :)--Firsfron of Ronchester 17:57, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder
Though you look to be inactive, I am adding this comment to try to help. You had tagged "Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder" with a {{sermon}} tag and I have reworded the section in question. I was wondering if you could look over it again to see if it is fit to remove the tag, or if you feel you can offer advice to clean it up, please do. Good suggestion on Haymarket for the WP meets in Calgary. Do you want to book a time and place, please? [edit] ABBA
I'm contacting you because you have edited the ABBA article, and look like you might be able to figure out what's wrong there. At the bottom is a link for a template about Mariah Carey. I like her, but it doesn't belong on that page. Can you fix it? -- Fyslee 18:40, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Health Wiki Research
A colleague and I are conducting a study on health wikis. We are looking at how wikis co-construct health information and create communities. We noticed that you are a frequent contributor to Wikipedia on health topics.
Please consider taking our survey here.
This research will help wikipedia and other wikis understand how health information is co-created and used.
We are from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The project was approved by our university research committee and members of the Wikipedia Foundation.

[edit] Thanks for help re: JWJ
Your attempts to fix the James Weldon Johnson article after a series of strange vandalisms are MUCH appreciated. I have reverted back to an earlier version than the one you chose simply because in the middle of the obvious vandalism, a couple more subtle changes had been introduced, such as substitution of Jacksonville, FL, with completely different cities in other states. So I didn't want you to think that you had been mistaken for a vandal and reverted on that basis. Some jerk(s) had deleted virtually the whole article, which had taken me hours and hours to develop, so now it's back to where it was. Keep up the good work! [edit] Worker Cooperatives
Thanks for you work citing sources on the worker cooperatives article. I actually have some great references to improve this article as I just did a somewhat involved research paper on the topic. [edit] Wrongful Accusation
I believe you have wrongfully accused me of doing something wrong. There was a wrong entry refering to Wario within the Catcher in the Rye and I simply removed it. I am not sure if the message was automated or not but thank you for your time.
- hm. the only rv i made on Catcher in the Rye today was this one [1]... which is definitely me removing some vandalism about 'wario'. now, it was an rv across several edits -- so what might have happened is someone inserted the vandalism, you removed, someone else re-inserted it and i rv'd all the way back to before the original insertion and then accidentally included you in my {{test}} tagging. all i can say is that, if some admin does ban you in the future for vandalism, you can reference back to this post and probably get a strike removed. other than that, if i did tag you wrongfully in haste... sorry. i do strive to be careful (and actually don't test-tag that often since i think most bans are punative rather than preventative in nature, and i'm not a big fan of that) but mistakes do get made occassionally. sorry. lastly, it would be super-helpful if you could sign your posts with ~~~~ in the future, even if you are editing 'anonymously'. certainly helps hunting this stuff down! -- frymaster 06:12, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Consensus decision-making - removal of [citation needed] tag by Peripitus
Hi Frymaster, good call - I've reverted my edit as I clearly had too cursory a look at the reference. The SecGen makes no reference to Eurocentrism and given the substance of the reference perhaps the sentence should go (although perhaps there is an academic ref outthere to back it up)....but I'll leave determining this upto people with a better view on the subject. Happy Editing - Peripitus (Talk) 06:25, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] McDonald's
While you're at it, maybe you could delete that Big Mac photo, since it's purpose is POV-pushing in another direction. A look at its user's "contributions" [2] will erase any doubt about his/her/its agenda. Wahkeenah 05:07, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- Never mind, the disrupter is blocked now. I added back the shrub with a neutral caption. Something tells me I might have added that previous caption, many months ago, probably for a specific reason that escapes me now. Sorry about that. But the photo's still good. :) Wahkeenah 05:24, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 204.29.111.62
Please do look it up, my edit of that ip's talk page was valid. 204.29.111.62 is the ip address belonging to alabama supercomputing, meaning that as http://www.asc.edu/clients/index.shtml says, it belongs to the following organizations: Alabama's colleges and universities are connected to the Alabama Research and Education Network (AREN). AREN provides Internet access for Alabama state government, four-year universities, two-year colleges, K-12 schools and libraries. Legislative appropriations from the Alabama Education Trust Fund provide this access at no cost to a limited number of public schools and colleges.
Currently, some new customers from AETF schools and agencies must cover a portion of their costs. Customers from private schools, 'general fund' state agencies and commercial customers continue to pay fully for services at standard rates.
While AREN was once the domain of the state's research universities, the state's community colleges and K-12 systems represent the greatest demand for new growth. To meet their needs, the Alabama Supercomputer Authority has developed a technical plan that will expand Internet access to all high schools and junior colleges in Alabama, pending appropriate funding. The AREN Client Advisory Group recently has been expanded to include representatives from both K-12 systems and two-year colleges.

Any attempts to ban the ip for vandalism or idiocy or warn them make absolutely NO SENSE whatsoever, and they would affect many EDUCATIONAL institutions. I reverted part of you edit, as a compromise, I left the rest of it there. good night.
-
- whoa! who said anything about 'banning'? the revert that i made (this one [3] for reference was simply to roll back to the junior high designation, not to block anyone from editing anything. i did this because the change, on first blush, looked suspicious... a change from a junior high to an organization with 'supercomputing' in it. people using junior high ip ranges have a history of modifying their ip talk pages (for what reason, i don't know... but, hey, i don't understand the drive to vandalize either and a lot of people do that too) so, yeah, i rolled it back. i also noticed that someone else has rolled back your rollback as well. if you want it to stick i might suggest that you register and get yourself a user name. rc patrollers are more likely to let questionable edits go if it's from a user name... that way an individual can be called to account for a change. the same way you're calling me to account, right? -- frymaster 06:12, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Warning users
I noticed that you've been monitoring the recent changes page and reverting vandalism. However, if you can post a warning on the user's page that corresponds with the vandalism, it'll help get the persistant ones blocked. You can see a list of warnings at WP:UTTM. You can also report persistant ones at WP:AIV. If you knew all this, then just ignore me :) Corpx 06:55, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
