This page is designed to explain how the "fromowner" system works and gives some guidance as to its use.

[edit] What it is

The fromowner system is what kicks in when you click the image on the right. It is designed to draw attention to the need for free images and make uploading easy for new users.

[edit] Notes on use

[edit] The image

The Image:Replace this image1.svg should be placed on articles about people that have no current free image. The image should be placed at the top so as the image code is visible when the edit tab is clicked.

For pages without infoboxes the following format is generally best:

[[Image:Replace this image1.svg|thumb|right|150px]]

There are various different types of infoboxes but one of the following should normally work:

image=Replace this image1.svg|width=150|

| image=Replace this image1.svg
| image size=150px

[edit] Sorting the results

Images uploaded through this system end up in Category:Fromowner. A lot of the images uploaded through the system are copyvios. Those that appear not to be should have their image copyright tag replaced with {{Multilicensefromownerviewed}} in order to keep them separate from the stuff that needs to be deleted.

[edit] How it Works

This section talks about some rather obscure mediawiki functions and is only really of interest to admins who need to make changes to it. Otherwise don't let it worry you.

The fromowner system involves a number of elements:
