Frosty, Heidi & Frank
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Frosty, Heidi & Frank Show is the talk radio show team of Frosty Stilwell, Heidi Hamilton, and Frank Kramer, based in Los Angeles and broadcast from their home station 97.1 Free FM (KLSX) and syndicated to 101.5 Free FM (KZON) in Phoenix, Arizona. Both radio stations are owned by CBS Radio.
The show airs weekdays from 10am to 3pm Pacific Time. (The fifth hour of the block on KLSX is a replay of the first hour). Collectively, they are known as The Triplets, though they are not fond of that nickname as it was given to them by entertainment reporter Sam Rubin, whom they dislike. They have gone so far as to hang up on callers who call them "Triplets".

[edit] History of the FHF Show
Stilwell and Kramer were once part of the Jamie, Frosty and Frank Show with Jamie White on Denver's Alice 105.9 (KALC), which had begun in 1994 and been Denver's highest rated talk show for a number of years. In 1998 the show moved to Los Angeles at Star 98.7 (KYSR), where they met traffic reporter Heidi Hamilton. In less than a year, the Jamie, Frosty, and Frank Show established themselves as the second highest rated English language show in southern California.[1]
In September of 1999, however, Stilwell and Kramer were replaced with Danny Bonaduce, after which the Star broadcast declined in popularity and Bonaduce was eventually fired.
Hamilton was a traffic reporter at KYSR in Los Angeles from 1998-2000, where she met Stilwell and Kramer, who were on air at KYSR as part of the now-defunct Jamie, Frosty and Frank Show. Stilwell and Kramer have stated that they are happier with Heidi's talent and personality.
The nickname "The Triplets" was actually created by Sam Rubin's producer, "Malibu" Dan Finder. The nickname became so wildly popular that KLSX started referring to the nighttime duo of "Conway and Steckler" as "LA's Radio Doublets," a program which Finder also produced.
Tension started between Sam Rubin and Frosty, Heidi and Frank because Rubin would bash the trio frequently on his TV show, the KTLA Morning News. Rubin often called their show unlistenable. Rubin's low ratings led to his KLSX departure in December 2003, and the station gave Frosty, Heidi and Frank an extra hour of airtime.
In 2005, KLSX General Manager Bob Moore entered Stilwell, Kramer, and Hamilton in a new three-year contract, extending their show through at least 2008.
The show was formerly syndicated to 103.7 Free FM (KSCF) from October 2005 to December 2006. On January 2, 2007, KSCF replaced them with a local talk show, so that KSCF will have higher Arbitron ratings in San Diego.
[edit] Hosts
Frosty Stilwell born on November 17, 1959 in Terre Haute, Indiana is an American radio personality and musician. Frosty's real name is not widely known, but public records searches show his real name as Forrest A. Stilwell. Stilwell's radio career included on-air positions in Terre Haute, Milwaukee, Louisville, California, and Grand Rapids. Frosty was once known to be obsessed with once-neighbor actress Tiffani Amber Thiessen, and is mocked for being obese and in poor health. On February 24, 2006, at a live show in Cabazon, California he revealed the results of a physical exam done two weeks prior. The exam revealed that he has a cholesterol level of 399, severe high blood pressure, psoriasis, and diabetes. A common source of comedy comes from Frosty's lack of sexual activity, his weight, and his keyboard which he introduced in early 2006. He currently lives in Studio City.
Heidi Hamilton (born September 24, 1973 in Batesville, Indiana) is an American radio personality. Hamilton is also an actor, performing in artistic roles in Los Angeles theater and independent film. Hamilton has surgically enhanced breasts and a lazy eye, the latter being joked about. On the air, she has openly discussed her first sexual experiences with both men and women. An ongoing game she played on the radio had the audience guessing the sex of her significant other, known only as "The Italian." On October 27, 2006 at a live show in San Diego, California, Heidi Hamilton revealed that "The Italian" was in fact, a woman. Hamilton now lives in Encino.
Frank Kramer (born September 5, 1970 in Terre Haute, Indiana) is an American radio personality. After moving to Denver, Kramer joined with current partner Frosty Stilwell and Jamie White, where they had been Denver's highest rated talk show for a number of years, before they brought the show to Star 98.7 KYSR in Los Angeles in 1998. Frank is divorced and has stated that he will never remarry. He has a young daughter, 9, who he did not know about until she was 5 years old. Frank got a trauma induced cataract in his right eye, caused by playing sword fight with his sister using paint sticks, when he was 3 years of age. He had the cataract removed in October of 2006 and has regained the sight in that eye after 33 years. He is a cigarette and avid marijuana smoker. Kramer resides in Bell Canyon, California.
[edit] Behind The Scenes Cast
Other characters or participants of the show include Crysta Garner, the phone screener and producer, editor/engineers Art Webb and Steve Binder, producer Shana Dent, and Program Director Jack Silver. Every once in a while, celebrity guests stop by or call in.
[edit] Segments
A regular segment done randomly about once a week or so is "Who's Going To Hell?" The hosts pick news stories about subjects including cruel mistreatments or sad deaths to animals or people. They compare to see who has the "worst" story and callers chime in and vote.
The show has a segment that airs every Friday afternoon at 1:00 called "Should I Stay or Should I Go." It showcases local LA bands or singers trying to make it in the music industry that have yet to see major success. Two songs are usually played with listeners calling in to give their feedback.
At the end of the show, before the repeat hour (around 1:55PM Pacific Time), Frosty, Heidi and Frank "apologize" to people, groups, living creatures and innaminate objects offended or even mentioned on the show. This is the same manner in which the Jamie, Frosty, and Frank show ended each day. Bill Handel of Radio station KFI in Los Angeles soon adopted the same apologizing routing at the end of his morning show yet when questioned on the air about it, will not acknowledge that the Frosty Heidi and Frank show were the first to use it.
