Frontiers is Southern California's largest LGBT magazine. It is an independent biweekly publication that focuses on news related to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered communities, as well as local and international coverage of HIV/AIDS-related topics. It recently underwent a redesign and now focuses on "gay lifestyle" as much as hard news, featuring sections on Arts & Entertainment and Living. It is the media outlet through which Star Trek cast member George Takei chose to come out. While a local magazine, many in the gay community consider it a rival to national magazines like The Advocate and Out. The company also prduces a Community Yellow Pages for the Southern California area.

The current editorial staff includes Alex Cho (Editor in Chief), Korina Jochim (Lifestyle Editor), Japhy Grant (Arts & Entertainment Editor). It's known for frequently using local gay celebrities as contributors. Project Runway's Nick Verreos is the Contributing Fashion Editor, porn star Johnny Hazzard and Pansy Division bassist Chris Freeman are music reviewers and trans icon Amanda Lepore rode atop the Frontiers float in the 2006 L.A. Pride Parade.

Frontiers is a member of the National Gay Newspaper Guild.
