Frontier Trail Junior High School

Frontier Trail is one of the eight junior high schools in Olathe, Kansas. The school opened in the August of 1989. Graduates go to either Olathe East High School with California Trail Junior High and Pioneer Trail Junior High graduates, or to Olathe South High School along with Chisholm Trail Junior High and Indian Trail Junior High graduates.

Their mascot is the jaguar and their colors are blue and red. Frontier Trail Jr. High has advisory classes on Wednesday and Thursday mornings to encourage reading. They have three 7th grade "teams" and three eighth grade "teams". Ninth graders don't have teams.

Frontier Trail was awarded the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence award for its 1999-2000 school year[1].

Frontier Trail's current principal is Jim McMullen; Ken Taylor and Jim Cumley are the assistant principals.
