Front Range Urban Corridor

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Front Range Urban Corridor is an oblong region of urban population located along the eastern face of the Southern Rocky Mountains in the U.S. states of Colorado and Wyoming. The corridor stretches from Pueblo, Colorado, north along Interstate Highway 25 to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and includes the Denver-Aurora Metropolitan Statistical Area, the Colorado Springs Metropolitan Statistical Area, the Boulder Metropolitan Statistical Area, the Fort Collins-Loveland Metropolitan Statistical Area, the Greeley Metropolitan Statistical Area, the Pueblo Metropolitan Statistical Area, the Cheyenne Metropolitan Statistical Area, and the Cañon City Micropolitan Statistical Area.

The corridor derives its name from the Front Range, a mountain range located along the western edge of the central portion of the corridor. The corridor consists of three primary subregions: the South Central Colorado Urban Area, the North Central Colorado Urban Area, and the Cheyenne Metropolitan Area.

The United States Census Bureau estimates that the Front Range Urban Corridor had a population of 4,013,055 in 2005, an increase of 8.81% since 2000.[1] In 2005, 84.2% of Coloradans and 16.7% of Wyomingites lived in the Front Range Urban Corridor.[2]
