From the Cradle is a blues album by Eric Clapton released in 1994. All the songs are covers. Per the liner notes, "This is a live recording with no overdubs or edits except for dobro overdub on 'How Long Blues' and drum overdub on 'Motherless Child'." Although long associated with the blues, From the Cradle was his first attempt at an all-blues album. He had however previously recorded mostly blues albums in other bands, notably Bluesbreakers and Layla. He would subsequently record Riding with the King with B. B. King and a tribute to Robert Johnson, Me and Mr. Johnson. Both are full blues albums.

Television video footage exists of Eric and the band performing for the camera, towards the end of their practice sessions before touring with the music of this album. Although no audience is present, the performance is electric and, as Eric points out on film, the band are playing so well, it would be a shame not to record it.
