[edit] Album Information
"The album is called From Nothin' to Somethin', Fabolous told MTV on the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors Awards red carpet earlier this month. "That's the movement we going with, man. For everybody that's trying to turn nothing into something, we're trying to make motivational music for them. Every song is hot on the album. A standout record is a record me and Akon did called 'Change Up.' It's about getting your money, and certain people think you change but it's not always you. Your income changed, but you didn't change as a person."
Def Jam has recently confirmed that the first single off the album will be "Diamonds", featuring Young Jeezy. The song has already started playing on local radio stations. The full song can be heard on Fabolous' Def Jam page.[1] and can be viewed on youtube
Def Jam has officially announced that Fabolous' album is going to come out on June 12, despite being pushed back five times, first starting with December 19 to Feburary 27 then March 20, then to April 17, next to May 1, finally to June 12 (as listed on the Def Jam website).
Junior Reid, Cassidy, Lil' Wayne, The Game, Ne-Yo, Paul Cain, Red Cafe, Akon, Jay-Z, Freck Billionaire, Young Jeezy, Cherish, Swizz Beatz, Lil' Mo, Rihanna, Pusha T of Clipse and Joe Budden are confirmed to be on the album.
XXL ranked "From Nothing to Something" the 8th most anticipated album of 2007.[2]
Despite a three-year hiatus since his last album, Real Talk, the Brooklyn emcee has appeared on sporadic projects, including recordings by DJ Clue, Christina Milian, and Syleena Johnson.
