Fritz Luchsinger

Fritz Luchsinger was the first of two men (the other being Ernst Reiss) to successfully reach the summit of Lhotse. It is the fourth tallest mountain in the world and a member of the Eight-thousander club, a group of fourteen mountains whose height is greater than 8,000 metres (26,427 feet). He and his partner reached the summit on May 18, 1956.
