Friendswood High School

Friendswood High School is a public secondary school located in Friendswood, Texas, United States.
Friendswood High School is a 4A educational facility which serves grades 9 through 12,and is a part of the Friendswood Independent School District.
Most of the city of Friendswood is within Friendswood ISD and is zoned to Friendswood High School.
The town of Friendswood is about 25 miles south of downtown Houston. The town retains a small home-town "feel" on the periphery of the fourth largest city in the United States. Friendswood High School football games,played at Henry Winston Stadium (named after the longtime coach) still provide a gathering place for residents in the Fall season. The students at Friendswood High have performed consistently and competitively in University Interscholastic League competitions which focus on academics, music and theater arts. The school is also recognized for its outstanding performance in the annual Academic Decathlon competition, having won the Texas state championship in its division every year since 1993. The band was named the 2006 Texas Music Educators Association 4A Honor Band. The Friendswood High School Band was also selected in 2006 as the premiere band to perform at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, Illinois. Also for the past two State years, the Mighty Mustang Band has won 2nd place at the UIL State Marching Contest.

All Friendswood ISD schools feed into Friendswood High School. This includes Cline and Westwood Elementaries, Zue S. Bales and Windsong Intermediate School, and Friendswood Junior High.
In the year 2007, it was the only school district in the Greater-Houston Area to not have off Martin Luther King Day.
