Friendship Peak
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Friendship Peak (mongolian Найрамдал оргил, Nairamdal orgil) is the name of a mountain peak in the Bayan-Ölgii Aimag (province) in the far west of Mongolia. It is one of five peaks in the Tavan Bogd ("five saints") massiv, together with the Khuiten (the highest mountain of Mongolia), the Naran Uul, the Ölgii Uul, and the Burget Uul. Sometimes the Nairamdal is also called Tavan Bogd Uul.
The peak forms the border triangle between Mongolia, Russia, and the Xinjiang province of China. This is also the point of Mongolian territory with the shortest distance to Kazakhstan, which is about 40 km away.
