Friedrichshafen Flugzeugbau

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Friedrichshafen Flugzeugbau was a German aircraft manufacturing company that was founded in 1912 in the town of Friedrichshafen in Germany. The town, which was located by the lake Bodensee, was already famous in air circles due to the fact that the Zeppelin airships had been built here. After the end of WW1, the company took over the old Zeppelin shed at Manzell. Later on they would also start production in Weingarten and Warnemünde. When the company was laid down in 1923, their production facilities were taken over by Dornier. Friedrichshafen Flugzeugbau mainly built seaplanes for the German Navy.
