Hi, thanks for the message. Actually, this info (about Fouquet & d’Artagnan) I got from the French wiki page. I also put a reference to this wiki page but they said "Wiki is not a reference" and removed it. However, this "fact" looks more like a rumor then a hystorical reality. Given that d’Artagnan is too legendary in fiction and not that legendary in reality makes it very difficult for the ignorant (like me) to find trustworthy information. One needs to search some biography either of d’Artagnan or of Fouquet. Such things are probably available only in French and, unfortunately, I have no access to this kind of sources. I am mainly interested in the architectural side, and there I have sources. I agree that if you cannot find any proper reference, one should state that this is, kind of, a word of mouth.
