WP Former Countries - Things to do:
Open tasks for WikiProject Former countries Edit
- Correct links: Correct any wikilinks that you find anywhere on Wikipedia where the link is to the wrong version of the state. Some examples of bad links:
- Referring to the former Free City of Lübeck (an independent entity for 711 years), but the link goes to the modern city of Lübeck.
- Referring to Napoleon's France, where the link instead goes to modern France.
- Create redirects: If the article for the correct state does not yet exist, create a redirect to the nearest existing article (if possible) and place {{WPFC|class=Needed}} on the redirect's talk page. Whether or not a redirect has been created, list the wanted article below under "Needed".
Article improvement
After performing any of these tasks, re-rate the entry via the WPFC banner, and remove the article from the relevant list.

Wait a goddamn minute.
How can the term "Free Republic of Schwarzenberg" be derived from a 1984 novel if the group was only around in mid-1945? Someone's got some issues with the time-space continuum. Mauipsyko 21:22, 7 Dec 2004 (UTC)
I think the country had no official name. The 1984 novel was probably the first to name it Free Republic of Schwarzenberg, and since then that name is used by historians. --Mixcoatl 00:12, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Perhaps that should be explained in the article somewhere. It confused me as well. Leadpipevigilante 00:35, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Clean-Up?
I don't know much about this topic, but I found this article hard to read. First, it sounds like a lot more can be said about this subject (is there an explanation as to how this country got it's own currency and postage system in 7 weeks?). Also, isn't the last sentence of the second paragraph a bit of a redundant statement? Leadpipevigilante 00:35, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
