Talk:FreeCast
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Note my comments are particularly meant to represent problems using a Linux operating system!.
This FreeCast program could become widely used, but not before a few things are more thoroughly explained when it comes to the setup and configuration. It does not give any infomation in the users manual toward making your own play list and it will cause hours of fustration for those who do not know anything about m3u text files and port forwarding etc.
My biggest complaint is the help is non-existent, I mailed two questions two days ago and no return as yet. After three days attempting to get a FreeCast system running I am beginning to think it does not work. The test page that streams a test audio works great however when using your own playlist it just don't work for me. I am using xmms player and there is no infomation included with their instructions.
Frankly I am very dissapointed with FreeCast, what good is a technology such as this without adequate documents and instructions. If I manage to get it working soon I will come back and update this message with my settings and anything that will be helpful.

- You might have mistaken Wikipedia for a user forum. Our talk pages are specifically for communicating with other editors about how to improve the Wikipedia article. You might have better luck registering a forum account at the FreeCast forums and asking your questions there. — Saxifrage ✎ 15:36, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for the url unfortunately it is not the FreeCast forum, it is a different forum in the UK named slightly different *Freecast* lower case c.
- Sorry about that. Here, this link should do better: FreeCast Wiki. This time I checked it was the right place! — Saxifrage ✎ 04:58, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
