How could Emery, born in Australia, be forced to leave the country "at the insistence of its government"? Having been born here, he would be an Australian citizen. To deprive him of his citizenship would require a specific Act of Parliament, and does not seem consistent with him being allowed back into the country in 1969. Does someone know what actually happened here? If not, this allegation is unsubstantiated, and should be deleted. Peter 2006-06-17.

I've tried to put the material in chronological order, and created sections and wiki links. More work is needed, and I too was struck by the oddity of the above claim. --Memestream 13:06, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
