Freshwater Biological Association

The Freshwater Biological Association , usually shortened to the FBA is a charitable organisation in the UK founded in 1929 with its main offices at Far Sawry on the banks of Windermere in Cumbria
Its stated aims are:
- to promote freshwater biology through scientific meetings, publications, research and authoritative advice.
It is probably best known as a the publisher of identification keys to freshwater organisms which are used throughout the world as the definitive reference works. The association has arguably one of the finest libraries of freshwater science in the world.
Membership is open to anyone who is interested in freshwater science and wishes to support the Association.
