Freeze Frame is a pricing game on the American television game show The Price Is Right. Debuting on February 22, 1995, it is played for a four-digit price, worth between $3,000 and $10,000.

[edit] Gameplay

Eight boxes with two-digit numbers slowly rotate in a clockwise direction on the game board. Two of those boxes, in order, form the correct price of a four-digit prize. The contestant pulls a lever to "freeze" the two boxes in a marquee-style "frame" on the board.

If the correct numbers appear in this frame, the contestant wins.

As the boxes rotate, a "camera shutter" sound effect plays whenever a pair of boxes stop inside the frame. The numbers change approximately every 3 seconds.

[edit] Trivia

  • Except when it's played first, Freeze Frame is always concealed by the Giant Price Tag. If Freeze Frame is played first, the game is already exposed, as the game's normal staging would require Bob to enter through the audience.
  • On February 15, 2007, a contestant froze the game while it was in between two sets of numbers -- the numbers reverted to the previous set in the frame. Unsure of whether the contestant stopped the numbers too early or too late, Bob opted to have the game restarted from that point. The playing resulted in a win.
