Freelander

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A freelander is term for a person or group seeking political/personal freedom through emigration to and settlement of open land. The term is primarily used in a fictional or speculative sense of freelanders emigrating from earth to other bodies in the solar system. Inherent to the idea of being a freelander is the idea of being independent and self-sufficient. Freelanders are typically described as associating with like-minded individuals, but different freelander groups may be quite different from one another (i.e., libertarian vs. authoritarian, capitalist vs. communist).
