Fredgar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fredgar is the name attributed to the author of a seventh century Burgundian chronicle. However, the name Fredgar did not become associated with the work until the 16th century.
The Chronicle is a history of the world from Adam down to the author's own time. It is heavily influenced by the works of Jerome, Hydatius and Gregory of Tours. Its significance lies in the fact that it is one of the main sources for early seventh century Merovingian history.
