Frederick Scalera

Frederick Scalera (born May 27, 1958) is an American Democratic Party politician, who has served in the New Jersey General Assembly since 2003, where he represents the 36th legislative district.
Scalera serves as Vice Chair of the Assembly's Housing and Local Government Committee, as well as on the Homeland Security and State Preparedness and Labor Committees. Scalera has served on the Governor's Task Force on Community Emergency Response, Citizen Corps since 2003 and on the Essex County Local Emergency Planning Council since 1991.
Frederick Scalera graduated from Nutley High School and Essex County College (Fire Code Technology). Scalera received an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities from Essex County College. He is a Deputy Fire Chief in Nutley.

Each of the forty districts in the New Jersey Legislature has one representative in the New Jersey Senate and two members in the New Jersey General Assembly. The other representatives from the 36th Legislative District for the 2006-2008 legislative session are:
