Frederic Parkhurst

Frederic H. Parkhurst (1864 - 1921) was a Republican governor of the U.S. state of Maine who served from January 5, 1921 to January 31, 1921.

Frederic Hale Parkhurst was born in Bangor, Maine on November 5, 1864. He ran for governor in 1920 for the 1921 office. On September 13, 1920 he won the general election for governor of Maine. He received 65% of the Maine citizens votes. He was a Republican and elected as Maine's 52 governor. on January 5, 1921 he was sworn into office. Shortly thereafter he moved into the Blaine House. He was the second governor to reside in the Blaine House. He did not hold his place as governor for long, however. After only one day as governor he collapsed. He died within one week of moving into the Blaine House. A few days later, on Jaunary 31, 1921, he died of pneumonia. He was 52 years old when he died.
