Frederic Niemeyer

Frederic Niemeyer (born on 24 April 1976 in Campbellton, New Brunswick) is a tour and Davis Cup tennis player. Niemeyer resides in Deauville, Quebec. He i s currently the World No. 279 in singles.
The 6'3, right-handed Niemeyer joined the challenger circuit in 1998. His best results have been winning the 1999 Urbana, 2001 São Paulo-1, 2005 Joplin, 2005 Forest Hills, and 2006 Santa Clarita, California ATP Challenger Series events. In top-flight ATP tour events Niemeyer has a win-loss record of 10-22. In his only Grand Slam appearance to date he reached the second round of Wimbledon 2003 after beating World No. 8 Felix Mantilla. His career high singles ranking to date is World No. 134, which he reached in March 2004.
In 13 Davis Cup ties for Canada, Niemeyer has a win-loss record of 16-7, including an impressive 9-1 record in doubles (7-0 partnering Daniel Nestor). In singles his best win came in 2002 when he defeated then World No. 14 Fernando González in a tie against Chile.
Niemeyer was named Canada's Player of the Year for 2002. He competed in both singles and doubles at the 2004 Athens Olympics, reaching the second round in doubles partnering Nestor.
Niemeyer played college tennis at Middle Tennessee State University.
