Fred Cummings (veteran)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fred Cummings was a veteran of the Mexican-American War who lived in by himself in a single room house. He was murdered sometime on the night of October 10, 1896.

His residence was near the Leavenworth, Kansas city limits. Cummings relied on pension money for his subsistence.

It seems that while Fred was eating supper last night, an intruder slipped up on him and dealt him a death blow on his head with a hatchet. The blade of the hatchet was sunk into his brain.
