Frecce Tricolori

Frecce Tricolori (Three-coloured Arrows) is the precision aerobatic demonstration team for the Italian Air Force. The team flies the Aermacchi MB-339-A/PAN, a two-seat fighter-trainer and anti-tank craft capable of roughly 898 km/h at sea level.
The Frecce Tricolori are the most numerous aerobatic team in the world counting 10 planes in their team of which 9 remain in formation while 1 other flies solo during most of the show.
The team is based in Rivolto in the north-eastern Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The Frecce Tricolori are considered one of the best teams in the world in their speciality. In 2005 they won the award for best exhibition at the most important military airshow: the Royal International Air Tattoo which is held in Fairford,UK.
Club Frecce Tricolori of North America, No 117 is the only chartered club in North America, invested by the Frecce Tricolori to provide representation of the team.
On August 28, 1988, the Frecce Tricolori were protagonists in the Ramstein airshow disaster in which over seventy people lost their lives.
