Category talk:Free software companies
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Postive and negative examples
Looking at the contents of the category should provide positive examples of companies that do qualify. Negative examples of companies that do not qualify are
- Linspire, since, as far as I know, the focus of their software promotion is on proprietary software which they add onto free software
- IBM, since, as far as I know, although they promote free software a lot, this is dwarfed by their promotion of non-free software
- CodeWeavers, since they focus on a proprietary version of Wine, not the free software version
- TransGaming Technologies, since they focus on a proprietary version of Wine, not the free software version
Please add more examples if you can. Gronky 21:55, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

- Some or all of them might qualify, but none of them have Wikipedia articles about them which could be added to the category. G10 Code and Intevation are two other free software companies that would qualify but Wikipedia also doesn't have an article about either. Thanks for the company names though.
