- Hi Frances. Could you please take a look at the Manual of Style and its sub-pages and note our common formatting guidelines. I notice you have been adding external links rather messily to Adelaide suburb articles. Thanks, --Cyberjunkie | Talk 04:47, 20 October 2005 (UTC)

- Nevermind. I see you've already fixed them. Happy editing, --Cyberjunkie | Talk 04:52, 20 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Request for edit summary
Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 0% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 0 minor edits in the article namespace.)
This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 22:56, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Photos
Hi Frances - I noticed the new photos you added to Williamstown and Footscray. I can't help thinking that the Williamstown photos are quite picturesque, and the Footscray ones, are, well... I'm not sure if you live in the area, but what about the view over Footscray Park and the Maribyrnong River towards Flemington racecourse, or the boats moored on the Footscray side of the Maribyrnong River near the Community Arts Centre, or the Footscray Mall, or the view from the old Ammunition Factory site towards the city, or the view from the E.J. Whitten stand towards the city, or the old town hall, or.... (anyway, one photo is better than none!) ρ¡ρρµ δ→θ∑ - (waarom? jus'b'coz!) 11:54, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Frances - I didn't mean to discredit anything - I too love photography of old industrial sites, especially that which you find around Spotswood. In hindsight, it is a terrific shot that you included - I guess I reacted to the stereotype, you know, Footscray being industrial, etc. Let's have a competition - first one to add another shot of Footscray wins! ρ¡ρρµ δ→θ∑ - (waarom? jus'b'coz!) 01:14, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates
hi,please make sure that you follow the instruction in the begining of the page in Nomination procedure. There was a small mistake, i have corrected it. --vineeth 08:25, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi, the Nicobar image doesn't exist now - I don't know why, but there may have been copyright/tagging issue, jimfbleak 14:00, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- you're right, so I have no idea what's happening - I'm a computer moron though, so I don't know - I'll see if the picture creator can fix it. jimfbleak 06:30, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Tasmania
I read on the news that there was this thing in Tasmania, where this animal shelter gives you beer if you bring samples of a certain type of animal. What is this animal? --Knotted 18:20, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] NewsMail story on Wikipedia
Hello Frances, my name is Dan Nancarrow, I'm a journalist for the Bundaberg NewsMail. We are looking to do a story on Wikipedia and specifically the Bundaberg wikipedia entry in the aim of encouraging Bundaberg people to contribute to the site.
From your history on the site I see you used to live in Budnaberg and have also contributed to the page on the city.
I would love to hear from you by phone when you have a spare moment so you could either help me with the story or know someone else related to Bundaberg that could.
My number is 4153 8507.
Thanks for your time.

[edit] Dark L
Hi again Frances. I just saw your changes to South Australian English and dark L. This is interesting but we need a credible published source/reference for this. I'm not saying you're wrong, but Wikipedia has a rule against original research. Thanks, Grant65 | Talk 02:39, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- Done. I didn't know how to do it myself until now, but I discovered that you need some code in the references section to make them appear. Grant65 | Talk 13:39, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:BramstonBeach.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:BramstonBeach.JPG. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:05, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cairns
Hi, re Cairns page, I see that you have a nice pic of the Daintree rainforest on there. With due respect, I don't think it should be on the Cairns page as it not necessarily in Cairns. I was wondering if you don't mind me deleting it as it already is rightly on the Daintree Rainforest page.
[edit] Emerald dove
I am fine with the removal. But I was hoping that the image would help someone understand how many hundreds of that brilliant bird die due to that strange invention of humans - glass. Does that happen in other places ? I don't know. Shyamal 10:01, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] When you upload your own photographs...
Please include a suitable license template when you upload photographs, even if you write in the description that you took them yourself. This is because we need to determine precisely the type of license you, the photograph's creator, have decided to release your work under.
You can choose an appropriate license template at upload time by clicking on its entry in the "Licensing" box in the upload page. For photographs you made by yourself, you can choose from
- GFDL (self-made), Template: {{GFDL-self}}
- Own work, copyleft: Multi-license with GFDL and Creative Commons CC-BY-SA 2.5 ..., Template: {{self2|GFDL|cc-by-sa-2.5}}
- Own work, attribution required (Multi-license with GFDL and ..., Template: {{self2|GFDL|cc-by-2.0}}
I have added the {{GFDL-presumed}} license template on Image:BramstonBeach.JPG, because I notice from your talk page you have a history of making Australian photographic contributions. Please decide on a suitable license with which to release your work, and replace the GFDL-presumed template on that image to one of the templates in bold, in the above list.
