Fraziers Bottom, West Virginia

The community of Fraziers Bottom in Putnam County, West Virginia is named after several families named Frazier who once lived in the bottom lands. It is apparently the only place in the United States with this name. Fraziers Bottom was previously known as Ruby.

The 2004 movie Win a Date With Tad Hamilton! is largely set in a West Virginia community of the same name; however, the movie's Frazier's Bottom bears no resemblance to the actual Fraziers Bottom. The real community is far smaller than the one depicted in the movie. Much of the movie takes place in a Piggly Wiggly's grocery store. However, there are no Piggly Wiggly's in Fraizer's Bottom (or anywhere in WV).
