Franny Rios is a fictional character in the television series The Nine and is portrayed by Camille Guaty.
Franny is of Mexican heritage, her mother left her and her sister in the care of their father and their grandmother when she was young.
Franny went to USCB for two years before dropping out when she realised it wasn't her thing. She previously worked as a teller at the bank Malcolm Jones manages[1][2], but is unable to return to work after the hostage incident due to the memory of losing her sister in the bank. She doesn't believe she can ever set foot in the bank again, and goes out to seek other employment.
Franny is currently attempting to manage her nephew, Ricky, who is acting out over the loss of his mother. Franny does not quite know how to handle the responsibility, and subsequently sent Ricky to live with his grandmother for awhile. She got a job as a cocktail waitress after failing to find employment through an agency. She is also being bothered by Eva's convict ex-boyfriend, Ricky's father, for money that she received from a charity fund started by Egan Foote in order to aid Ricky after Eva's death.
Her relationship with Jeremy Kates also complicates matters, the two having slept together the day of Eva's funeral out of mutual loss (Eva and Jeremy's relationship with Lizzie Miller). Lizzie is unaware of the situation, but Egan Foote has an inclination of Jeremy's attraction to Franny. He recently has declared Franny "important to him," and Franny appears to have accepted Jeremy's attentions, seeming to need some source of stability in her troubled situation.
There is currently a rift in Franny's relationship with Nick Cavanaugh and Kathryn Hale due to their suspicions over Eva's potential involvement in the robbery.
