Frankenstein Unbound

Frankenstein Unbound is a 1990 horror movie based on Brian Aldiss' novel of the same name. This film was directed by famed independent filmmaker Roger Corman, who also directed such films as The Raven, The Pit and the Pendulum and The Masque of the Red Death.

The primary character of the film is scientist Joe Buchanan who is played by actor John Hurt. The supporting characters include: Raul Julia who plays Frankenstein and Bridget Fonda who portrays Mary Shelley.
Actor Jason Patric appears briefly in this film as Lord Byron. And, in a rare film appearance, the late lead singer for INXS, Michael Hutchence, plays Percy Shelley.

The ultimate weapon which was meant to be safe for mankind produces global side effects including time slides and disappearances. The scientist behind the project and his car are zapped from the year 2031 to 1817's Switzerland where he encounters Victor Frankenstein, shortly after the murder of his young brother by the monster. In a mix of fiction and fact, while attempting to prevent further tragedies, he becomes involved with Mary Shelley, the author of Frankenstein. Dr. Buchanan recreates his experiment during Dr. Frankenstein's attempt to revive his late wife, sending all of them into a desolate ice age in the future. The monster kills Dr. Frankenstein, and Dr. Buchanan sets out to destroy it. After Dr. Buchanan kills the monster he find that last remaining city on Earth.
