Francis "Frank" Ronald Tate was a fictional character on the ITV1 soap Emmerdale in the UK. He was played by Norman Bowler.
Frank arrived in 1989 with his son Chris and daughter Zoe. He also had a son called Liam.
He later married Kim and their son James was born in 1996, but Frank died of a heart attack less than a year later following an argument with Kim. He was 59 years old.
Since his death, two of his sons have died; Liam was in fact killed by Zoe. Chris committed suicide, having spent the final decade of his life confined to a wheelchair after being injured by falling debris during the local air crash in December 1993.
