Frank Pritchard is a New Zealand rugby league player. He currently plays for the Penrith Panthers in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. He made his first grade debut on 3 May 2003 (round 8) against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles and first played for New Zealand in 2005. Frank is best known for his powerful, bruising runs that usually take at least two men to stop as well as for his bone-crunching tackles. He is one of the game's best enforcers and intimidators. However, he also possesses a skillful offload and pass that can help his team mates run into a gap.

He was involved in some controversy when he concussed Australian fullback Karmichael Hunt with a massive shoulder charge in the Anzac Test on May 5 2006. Some Australians felt that this was a delibrate attempt to injure Hunt, who chose to play for Australia despite spending the first eleven years of his life in New Zealand.

On February 17, 2007, just prior to the 2007 NRL season, Frank and his brother Tom Pritchard were involved in an incident during the night time in the Liverpool area. His brother reportedly received four knife wounds, including one to the pulmonary artery. His brother remained in intensive care following the incident. Frank was also injured after being stabbed in the hand which led to him having an operation the afternoon after the attack.

Outside of football, he plays tennis and plans to become a youth worker once he retires.

[edit] Tri-Nations 2006 Final

Frank Pritchard was apart of the Kiwis Squad who lost to the Australians 16-12 in extra time. But he will remember this game because he scored his first try in the black and white.
