[edit] Criminal career
A "made man" sometime during the 1950s, Locascio was a bookmaker and loanshark for the Gambino family before serving as acting underboss and later acting consigliere for John Gotti in the Gambino Mafia Family. Locascio was a Bronx Capo who joined Gotti's inner circle after the assaniation of Paul Costellano and was selected to serve in Gotti's administration due to the absence of imprisoned Underboss Joseph (Joe Piney) Armone. In 1992, Gotti, Locascio, Sammy Gravano, and Tommy Gambino were indicted on a RICO charge. Gambino was severed and Gravano testified against Gotti and LoCascio. Gotti and Locascio received life without parole on June 23, 1992. Locascio is currently imprisoned at the federal prison in Terre Haute, Indiana.
