Francisco Malespín

General Francisco Malespín (September 28, 1806–November 25, 1846) was born in Izalco to Juan Malespín and Luisa Herrera y Rodríguez. He had three brothers (Calixto, Gabriel and Ignacio) and five sisters (Indalecia, Florencia, Guadalupe, Julia and Maria Josefa).
He was President of El Salvador from 7 February 1844 to 15 February 1845. He was killed in action in Sonsonate Department while attempting to regain power.
