Francisco Casilla

Francisco Casilla Cortés (born October 2, 1986) also know as "Kiko" Casilla was born in Tarragona in the Province of Catalonia. He currently plays for Real Madrid Castilla (Since Summer of 2005) and has graduated from the youth ranks.

"Kiko" is a very young talented goalkeeper, although, because of his young age and lack of experience he didn't enjoy much play time last season, being only third pick goalkeeper after Jordi Codina and David Cobeño. After only 4 appearances with Real Madrid Castilla last season, Casilla is expected to get a lot more play time this season, especially after the departure of main goalkeeper David Cobeño. However, Jordi Codina became the first- choice goalkeeper, and Antonio Adan, a graduate from Real Madrid C became the second- choice goalkeeper and also Casilla didn't make any appearance this season so far. Casilla was with the first team of Real Madrid in the Austrian Tour, and is expected to show up more in training and games with the first team in 2006/07 season.
