Francis de Wolff
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Francis de Wolff (7 January 1913 – 18 April 1984) was a British actor. His stocky, swarthy appearance and his demeanour often led to his casting in foreign roles in British films and television.
He appeared as the Ghost of Christmas Present in Scrooge (1951) and on television regularly in the 1960s and 1970s. In 1959 he played the role of Dr. Mortimer in the first color version of the famous Sherlock Holmes novel, The Hound of the Baskervilles. He is perhaps best remembered by British children for his role as the villainous Jedikiah in The Tomorrow People. He also made appearances in the Doctor Who stories The Keys of Marinus and The Myth Makers.
De Wolff's other film credits include Carry On Cleo and From Russia with Love.
