Francesco Flachi

Francesco Flachi (born 8 April 1975 in Campi Bisenzio, Province of Florence) is an Italian football striker, currently plays for U.C. Sampdoria.

On September 21, 2006 Flachi was suspended for two months by the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio as investigation turned out he and 2005 team mate Moris Carrozzieri were gathering information for gamblers in Italian football. Their club U.C. Sampdoria received a €20,000 fine.[1]

Flachi capped for Italy U18 team in 1992 European Under-18 Football Championship Preliminary.

Trace amounts of cocaine were found in Flachi's system in a random test aftera a 2-0 loss to Inter Milan on January 28, 2007. He could ask for his backup sample to be used, but if he fails that he could face a longer suspension.

Flachi is a lifelong Fiorentina fan, and anytime he scores against Fiorentina he doesn't celebrate.
