Frances M. Beal is a black political activist.
Frances M. Beal has spent her life writing and speaking about the lack of rights for black women and blacks as a whole. She was the National Secretary of the Black Radical Congress and a political writer for the Bay View Newspaper. One of her most famous works was the pamphlet Double Jeopardy: To Be Black and Female. The pamphlet had a major impact on the progression of non-white females.
A famous quote which Frances M. Beal is noted for saying is:
"To die for the revolution is a one-shot deal; to live for the revolution means taking on the more difficult commitment of changing our day-to-day life patterns." - Frances M. Beal
Those words signified the daily actions and approach to life which Frances M. Beal had. Although she did not die to prove that she was for the revolution or in her case the betterment of rights for blacks, especially women's rights, she lived each day of her life proclaiming and speaking out and doing every thing she could to assure she was heard.
