[edit] Pre-Show

Nicholas Foxworth Crane is the only son and youngest child of Julian Crane and Ivy Winthrop. Extremely spoiled and headstrong, Fox was sent away to boarding school with his sisters at a young age, and has made trouble in both North American and European schools. Fox had a troubled relationship with both of his parents, but especially with his mother, Ivy, who always favored his brother, Ethan, over himself and his two sisters because Ethan is the son of her true love, Sam; Ethan and Fox developed an adversarial relationship as a result, though the two have since worked things out.

[edit] 2002

Bored with university, Fox dropped out and took up gambling to keep himself occupied. Once he'd gambled all of his money away, he saw a news report on Ethan's marriage to Gwen Hotchkiss, and decided that it was time to return home to Harmony. Once home, Fox took great joy in annoying his parents and older half-brother, and also struck up a friendship with his new stepmother, Theresa.

[edit] 2003

Upon meeting Whitney Russell, Fox fell hard for the daughter of his father's ex-lover. In love for the first time, Fox teamed up with Theresa, whose marriage to his father had been revealed to be a practical joke; he agreed to help her win Ethan back from his wife, Gwen, if she helped him to win his "mystery woman" from her boyfriend.

Still, Fox continued to pine over Whitney, only giving up on her after a heart-to-heart with his father and the return of Whitney's boyfriend, Chad Harris. When Theresa mistakenly believed herself to be his mystery woman, Fox played along, geninuely caring for Theresa as a friend.

Fox continued to stand by and support Theresa, even when they became lovers. The couple split, however, when Theresa confessed that she had cheated on Fox, and Fox went back to dreaming about a life with Whitney. When Theresa overheard Fox admit aloud that Whitney was his mystery woman, Theresa told Whitney, who panicked, realizing that she had feelings of her own for him, despite her relationship with Chad.

Everything changed, however, when it was revealed that Chad was the illegitimate child of Julian Crane and Eve Russell - making him Fox's paternal half-brother and Whitney's maternal half-brother (this would later be revealed to be false. Chad is now believed to be Alistair's son with Eve's adopted half-sister Liz). Whitney was horrified that she'd slept with her own brother, and turned to Fox. The two soon began sleeping together, and Whitney became pregnant. Fox was overjoyed that he would be a father, though he noticed that Whitney seemed less than thrilled at the news.

[edit] 2005

Head-over-heels in love with Whitney, Fox proposed to her on Valentine's Day; though she turned him down, the two remained an item.

When Whitney begged Fox to rescue Ethan's wife and newborn daughter, Gwen and Jane, from the Crane compound in the Atlantic, immediately set out to find them, and gave Whitney his power of attorney in case she needed to conduct any business for him. When he returned, he was thrilled to learn that Whitney had given birth to a boy; unfortunately, Whitney had used his power of attorney to give the child up for adoption. Though furious, he still loved her, and tried to regain custody of his child, to no avail. Fox was furious when he discovered that his own half-brother, Chad, had adopted the boy, and named him Miles Davis Harris with Whitney. When Fox discovered that Whitney had lied to him all along - that Miles was actually Chad's biological son - he ended things with Whitney for good.

Meanwhile, Fox began to grow close to Kay Bennett. The two first met on the wharf, and started a less-than-friendly relationship. Still, a romance began to blossom, and the two had sex during the tsunami. The two soon began dating, to the chagrin of Fox's mother, Ivy, who had recently chosen to play a larger role in her youngest son's life and felt that Kay, formerly a schemer, was not right for Fox. Still, Fox continued to date Kay, even giving her a job as his assistant at Crane Industries.

[edit] 2006

Longing to truly be a family with Kay and her daughter, Maria, Fox decided to propose to his girlfriend. She at first turned him down, wanting the stars to be in proper alignment, but eventually accepted his proposal anyway. It was right after Fox and Kay became formally engaged that Maria's father, Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald, came back into the picture. Fox became threatened by Miguel's presence, fearing that Kay was still in love with him and also resenting the fact that Miguel was usurping his place as Maria's father figure. Even when Miguel got a new girlfriend, Siren, Fox still worried that Kay's concern over their relationship was really jealousy in disguise.

Things took a turn for the worse when Kay was electrocuted, causing her to believe that she was engaged to Miguel. Though Fox wanted to set Kay straight, Dr. Russell insisted that Kay be allowed to remember on her own, and Miguel was eager to play along. When Fox learned that Miguel and Kay had made love, he was furious at Miguel, who suggested that perhaps Kay was still stuck in her alternate reality because she wanted to be with him and not Fox. When Fox lashed out at Miguel, Kay became angry, and told Fox she never wanted to see him again.

Things took a turn though for Kay. She got electrocuted when Endora tried to turn back time causing the power to go out and Kay then touced the lamp when electricity was flowing through the wire. She woke up shocked to be in bed with Miguel and screamed when she found out they had slept together. She went to find Fox to tell Miguel to leave her alone and ended up walking in on Siren and Fox in bed with each other. Siren sang her Siren's Song which ended up seducing the Crane scion and making it so that he could never make love to another human again!

Fox and Kay reunited, but were prevented from achieving any kind of intimacy as a result of the Siren's Song. Kay soon discovered a spell that could make lift the curse, but in order to do so, she would have to make Fox so jealous that he could kill. Kay decided to set it up so that Fox would see her with Miguel and get jealous. It worked - a little too well! Fox decided to actually kill Miguel by throwing a hair dryer into the shower. However, in the end he decided not to kill him.

Soon though, Kay decided her heart truly belonged to Miguel and initially opted to tell Fox the wedding was off. Fox, after heading some advice from his father, created a plan to keep Kay. He made it seem as if he was going to die in a few months. Kay dropped out of her decision to break up with Fox. Fox, more determined than ever to stay with Kay, contacted Charity and brought her back to town in hopes that she would aid him in his plan to break Kay and Miguel up.

[edit] 2007

2007 has started out with Fox and Kay getting married. Then with Miguel trying to break up their marriage and saying that Fox is a liar.

As on January 24, 2007 Fox was hit by a car and now he is in intesive care making some Passions fans to believe that since the show is ending this summer that Fox could end up dying.
