Fox Cities

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fox Cities of Northeast Wisconsin are the cities, towns and villages along the Fox River as it flows from Lake Winnebago northward into the Bay of Green Bay. Following the flow of the river, the cities are Neenah, Menasha, Appleton, Grand Chute, Kimberly, Combined Locks, Little Chute and Kaukauna. Together they form the core of the third largest metropolitan area of Wisconsin with around 360,000 people.

The area is well known for its excellent shopping. In fact, local marketers have recently begun calling it "Wisconsin's Shopping Place," playing on the fact that it has the second biggest mall in the state. Appleton, the largest of the Fox Cities, is also known as Houdini's home town.
