Fowler Ice Rise

Fowler Ice Rise ( ice rise between Evans Ice Stream and Carlson Inlet, in the southwest part of Ronne Ice Shelf. The feature appears to be completely ice covered except for Haag Nunataks which protrude above the surface in the northwest portion. It was mapped by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Landsat imagery taken 1973-74, and named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Capt. Alfred N. Fowler, USN (Ret.), Commander, U.S. Naval Support Force, Antarctica, 1972-74.
