This is a self-serving "charity" that uses the "helping veterans" as its selling point. This article is an advertisement for solicitation.

  • The Foundation was a registered charity with the Missouri Attorney General's office according to Google Cache, but is no longer listed on the target list. Compare [1] to [2].
  • The Foundation sponsored a Golf Tournament as a fund raising event in August 2005; see [3]
  • On an "active charities" listing maintained by the Kentucky state government, it is shown that FAV is an active charity in KY with a solicitation period of 2004 to 2010, utilizes the professional solicitor "Associated Community Services", is based in West Bloomfield (no state mentioned) and has a charity/solicitor payout ratio of 18:83, meaning that 83% of funds raised go to the solicitor and 18% to the non-profit organization.   • On an "active charities" listing maintained by the Illinois state government, it is shown that FAV is an active charity in IL with a solicitation period of 2005 to 2024, utilizes the professional solicitor "Associated Community Services", and is based in West Bloomfield, Michigan. (see [5])
  • Bob McDonald is the program director for FAV (see [6])
  • FAV is a member of the Detroit and Eastern Michigan Better Business Bureau (see [7])
  • FAV is noted as an active fundraiser in Washington State according to a "Commercial Fundraiser Activity Report" dated November 24 2004 (see [8]); the commercial fundraising netted $0 in 2004 according to another report (see [9])
  • FAV receives a % of proceeds from the sales of some items on-line from the InActSys website (see [10])
  • FAV is noted as a current campaign solicitor in an Indiana State listing, noting the period of solicitation from 2005 to 2024. (see [11])
  • Information from 2003 Charitable Fundraising report for Ohio (see [12]).
  • Information from the Kentucky on-line Private Foundations Filing index (see Current Non-Profit Entities Filing IRS Tax Form 990 with the Attorney General), indicates a 2003 revenue of close to $US 2 million.
  • One of several sponsors of "Medical Mission to Vietnam 98" (see [13])
