The station opened in 1884, when the London and North Western Railway's line from Birmingham to Sutton Coldfield was extended to Lichfield. More recently, in 1978 Four Oaks became the northern terminus of the new Cross-City Line, although this was later extended further north to Lichfield City and eventually to Lichfield Trent Valley.

[edit] Services

Southbound trains operate every 10-20 minutes (Monday to Saturday) to Birmingham New Street and Longbridge, with trains continuing to Redditch every 30 minutes. Northbound trains operate every 10-20 minutes to Lichfield City, continuing every 30 minutes to Lichfield Trent Valley. On Sundays, trains run every 30 minutes between Lichfield Trent Valley and Redditch.
