Founder Group (方正集团) is China's second-largest personal computer vendor. Its motto is "世界在变创新不变". The company is currently moving to establish itself as a computer chip designer.

Founded in 1986 with the investment from Peking University, Founder Group has come a long way to become a well-known IT enterprise in China and plays an important role in the development of China’s IT industry. With a total staff of over 20,000, Founder Group now owns 5 listed public companies on the securities exchanges of Shanghai, Shenzhen, Malaysia and Hong Kong, as well as over 20 wholly-funded companies and joint-ventures both home and abroad. It is one of the first 6 government approved technique innovation units, one of the top 500 large state-owned enterprise groups and one of the 120 large selected pilot enterprise groups.In 2006,it ranked the 10th in the Top 100 State Electronic and Information Enterprises and ranked the 9th in the Top 100 Beijing Enterprises. Most importantly, it achieved revenue of 24.5 billion yuan in 2005. 　 To some extent, Founder Group is seen as the one in possession of true core technologies that is vital to China’s IT industry. Moreover, Founder is one of the important software exporters in China. Of the Project 748, a key national scientific and technological research project, Professor Wang Xuan invented a "laser typesetting technology". After the successful transformation and industrialization of this invention, Founder Group put an end to the era of lead and fire in the Chinese printing industry. So far, Founder’s laser typesetting technology has occupied over 85 percent of the domestic market share. The related products have exported to the overseas, covering more than 30 countries and regions in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and America, and the oversea market share is growing steadily.

Meanwhile, Founder entered into the PC manufacturing field and has stood firmly in the 2nd place for 6 consecutive years. Faced with the fierce competition, Founder has moved quickly towards more value-added upstream links and stepped into the fields of breadboard and chips production.

From June 2004, relying on the medical resources of Peking University, Founder began to penetrate into the medical field by means of a medical management company. By building giant hospitals with international capital and reorganizing the Southwest Synthetic Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Founder has been working hard to make a medical and pharmaceutical platform. 　　 While persistently adhering to IT, medicine and medical treatment as its principal business, Founder has stepped into some traditional sectors. By seeking for leap-forward development on its own initiative, Founder is confident to build itself into a large global enterprise group.
