The school mascot is Freddy the Falcon.

Foster H.S. opened in the fall of 2001.

[edit] Football

The Foster football team made it to the area round of the playoffs in just their second year of having a varsity team. This is significant due to the fact that cross town rival B.F. Terry High School did not advance to the area round of playoffs until its eleventh year of having a varsity team. The team, led by running back Javarris Williams, lineman Chris Green, lineman Jeff Younker, safety Braxton Amy, Linebacker Shayne Macha, and lineman Matthew Williams, was the first playoff team in its school history winning its bi-district game against Killeen Harker Heights in double overtime 49-42. In area play, Foster lost to the Nederland Bulldogs 28-14, which ended their season. The class of 2004 had six players go on to play Collegiate Football.
