[edit] Limits of the concept

In Spain, at least, the concept is used (pejoratively) to define the idea that Europe should become less open to immigration. It is usually used by those suppotring greater openess to immigration. Anyhow it is not used to describe anti-globalization or anti-mundialization in trade such as some green parties or leftist parties. --Varano 19:14, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] External PDF link

This might be a useful link for the article page. But since I am a new user, I am hesistant to place it directly on the article page. The following PDF file is in english and contains a list of deaths ascribed to 'fortress europe' since 1993 by non-profit organisation UNITED. This list is part of an art project by 'Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam'. See: http://www.smba.nl/static/nl/events/the-list/the-list.pdf 145.222.138.172 10:47, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image

A better image would be Mediterranean coast guard patrols or border posts, since it is more related to the concept. Does anyone have a good one? --Joffeloff 15:03, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
