Forshaga Municipality is a Swedish municipality in Värmland County, in west central Sweden. Its seat is in Forshaga with 6,300 inhabitants at 73 meters height. Other municipal towns include Tjärnheden, Dyvelsten, Mölnbacka, Olsäter, Tången-Rudshult, Visterud and Östra Deje.
The town Forshaga was known in the 14th century, as a location for salmon fishing in the Klarälven River. Salmons were used both locally and transported to monasteries in southern Sweden.
Forshaga is still today known for its rich fishing waters which attracts hobby sport fishers from all over the country.
